Hi folks,
>From 27th November 2000, the Cyber-Society-Live list (and all other lists
hosted by mailbase) will change to a new service provider JISCmail. This
will result in some changes to the "user interface" - specifically in the
addresses used by listmembers.
After 27 November, emails to the Cyber-Society-Live list should be sent to:
[log in to unmask]
and user commands should be sent to:
[log in to unmask]
Likewise, if you want to look at the cyber-society-live list archives on the
web the URL will change from:
http://www.mailbase.ac.uk/lists/cyber-society-live
to:
http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/lists/cyber-society-live
For full details on why these changes are taking place, and for further
information on the transition arrangements, you should visit:
http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/docs/transition.htm
You should be able to download quick reference cards which detail all
changes to addresses and commands you are likely to use.
Finally, there will be a "handover" period of 6 months. So all messages
sent to the old address will be automatically forwarded to the new JISCmail
one during this period while we all adjust.
JISCmail will be immediately familiar to all of you who have used Listserve
lists. There are advantages to this software, which we all hope will benefit
list members. Help services are available from JISCmail for anyone having
problems.
Best wishes.
Joanne.
