Hello Frauke,
You could also try the fear of crime discussion list (also run by
mailbase).
Jason Ditton, Jon Bannsiter, Liz Gilchrist and I investigated the fear
of crime in an attempt to improve survey Qs in this area. The main
results are published in the following:
Farrall et al (1997) "Questioning the Measurement of the Fear of
crime", BJCrim 37(4):658-79.
Ditton et al (1998) "Measuring the Fear of Crime" Criminal Justice
Matters, 31:10-12.
Ditton et al (1999) "Afraid or Angry?", Int. Rev. of Victimology,
6:83-99.
Ditton et al (1999) "Reactions to Victimisation: Wny has Anger Been
Ignored?", Crime Prevention and Community Safety, 1(3):37-54.
Farrall and Ditton (1999) "Improving the Measurement of Attitudinal
Responses", Int. Jnl. of Social Research methodology, 2(1):55-68.
Farrall et al (2000) Social Psychology and the Fear of Crime,
FORTHCOMING in BJCrim, 40(3).
Drop me a line if you would like me to send you copies of these. I may
also have some of the other articles which deal with the
methodological side of the fear of crime and which are referenced in
the above articles, so if finding things becomes arduous, I might be
able to help you there too.
All the best,
Stephen.
