OOPS-145: Delivering Quality Solutions in eTime
Barry McGibbon, Princeton Softech
Venue for the OCTOBER meeting: IBM Centre South Bank, 76 Upper Ground,
London SE1, next to the National Theatre and The London Television Centre.
Yesterday's IT applications supported the business. Today they often are the
business.
With the incredibly tight linkage between corporate business strategies and
IT applications for Internet and eBusiness there is no room for poor quality
solutions: a take-no-excuses public doesn't come back. IT organizations need
a practical process for delivering these next generation applications using
component-based development.
This session introduces a set of best practices that can heighten the
development prowess of any IT organization striving to meet the needs of
eTime.
Barry McGibbon is a Principal Consultant with Princeton Softech. He has
worked in the IT industry for over 33 years, holding very senior management
positions with leading computing services providers. He has been involved in
many eBusiness initiatives for significant enterprises in the UK, Europe and
the USA. As well as a frequent contributor to major journals he is author of
"Managing Your Move To Object Technology: Guidelines & Strategies for a
Smooth Transition" published by SIGS Books Inc. He is also a series editor
for Cambridge University Press.
