Dear Colleagues

I am contacting you introduce myself as the new co-convenor, with Ian
Ground, of the UACE Administrators' Network. Please feel free to contact me
with information, suggestions, queries or comments related to this Network
and I'll respond to them as best I can as I grow into my new role. If you
have not already registered yourself as a member of the UACE Administrators'
Network, could I encourage you to do so through Contacts and Links on
www.uaceadmin.net/

We are now planning the detail of the UACE Administrators' Conference to be
held in Newcastle on 2nd - 4th April 2001. (These dates are earlier than
originally planned to avoid too close a proximity to the main UACE
Conference). As discussed previously at UACE Council, the Admin Network is
keen to develop stronger links between all the UACE networks and so we
invite you to send any ideas / suggestions / topics for discussion that you
may have for cross-network meetings at the Newcastle conference. We also
plan to have a session on different administrative documents that we all use
regularly, as a means of comparing different documents devised for similar
or comparable uses and to prevent reinventing the wheel in every CE
Department or Centre when developing administrative systems. With that in
mind, we'll be writing to you shortly to ask you to collate and send a
variety of documentation for use in this session.
