Applications are invited for the above posts in the field of the training of
Further Education Lecturers within the Institute of Education. The
appointments will start on 1February 2001 or as soon as possible thereafter.
These are three new posts which have come about since the approval of a
Teaching Qualification (Further Education) by the Scottish Executive.
The Senior Lecturer post will involve academic management of the TQ(FE) and
a
contribution to teaching within one or more of on a range of programmes in
the
Institute of Education.
The lecturer posts will involve a teaching contribution to the TQ(FE) and
other programmes.
Each of these posts will involve significant research activity. The
Institute of Education at Stirling received a 5 in the 1996 RAE.
Salary will be within the Academic Staff Salary Scale Lecturer / Senior
Lecturer (£18,731 -£36,740 p.a.)

2 LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER POSTS IN EDUCATION (TRAINING of SECONDARY SCHOOL
TEACHERS)

Applications are invited for the two posts in the field of Initial Teacher
Education (ITE) within the Institute of Education. Applicants should have a
teaching qualification in Maths or in one or more of
History/Geography/Modern Studies. The appointments will start on 1 January
2001 or as soon as possible thereafter. The posts will involve a significant
contribution to teaching on the Institute's concurrent ITE programme.
The posts will involve significant research activity. The Institute of
Education at Stirling received a 5 in the 1996 RAE. Candidates currently in
school teaching posts may be considered for the posts at lecturer level.
Applicants who wish to be considered for a post at Senior Lecturer level
should have a significant research record.
Salary will be within the Academic Staff Salary Scale Lecturer /Senior
Lecturer (£18,871 - £36,740)
