Newsflash:
The Workplace Basic Skills Network is managing the Building Basic Skills in the
Workplace Initiative for the DfEE.
This Initiative will provide funding for approximately 30 capacity-building
projects, which will be undertaken by adult basic skills providers in England.
These programmes will initiate or extend high quality workplace basic skills
delivery activities, will offer examples of best practice to other
organisations within the field, and will aim to stimulate demand among
employers and individuals.
Unfortunately funding is only available for projects in England at this stage
(not Wales, N.Ireland or Scotland).
Bids are invited to this initiative from adult basic skills providers in
England under three strands:
Strand 1. Development Projects
Develop New Work in the area of workplace basic skills delivery
Strand 2. Extension Projects
Build upon and extend existing work in workplace basic skills delivery
Strand 3. Regional or local approaches
Create or develop regional or local strategies for marketing, professional
development, and delivery of workplace basic skills
The closing date for bids is Friday, 4th August. We understand that this gives
you a short period of time to prepare your bids, but unfortunately we are not
able to consider bids received after the closing date.
