HPiC Website News aims to keep readers up to date with recently launched
internet websites in the field of health promotion. The newsletter contains
health information and campaign sites, sites of relevant organisations, and
sites which are recommended as good examples of design for the internet. 


Alcohol

The Institute of Alcohol Studies (IAS) is an independent educational body

which offers references and resources; the DWW News section; the Deaf
KeyPals section, which contains employment opportunities, and the Deaf

Centre and it's work and resources is provided, as well as information on
care and prevention.


National Health Service

statistics and current research information.

government departments. Departments involved at present are the Department
of the Environment, Transport and the Regions, Department of Health,

Home Office, Department of Trade and Industry and the Cabinet Office. The
website provides information from central government tailored towards people
working in local authorities on issues such as the environment, transport
and housing.


The HPiC Website News bulletin is compiled every two weeks. Back issues are
now available in the internet from the "Current Awareness" section of the
HPiC Web pages: http://www.hea.org.uk/hpic. HPiC provides a Website Gateway
to health promotion related websites via the HealthPromis database, which
also contains over 52,000 bibliographic references to health promotion
publications, resources and articles. The HealthPromis database may be
