The Scottish Executive proposes to fund up to four visiting fellowships in
public health in the academic year Oct 2000/July 2001. One possible area
which is listed in the document is public health information systems. These
are not described further but I presume include both:
a) systems for professional use which collect and manipulate information for
professionals in public health, and also
b) systems for patients and the public.
In particular the Scottish Executive expects work to focus on reducing
inequalities. They will fund up to 12 months starting no later than 1
January and it will cover the cost of reimbursement for your employer for
your absence. Clearly there will be a lot of competition and successful
candidates will need a good track record in the proposed research.
If anybody would like to consider applying for one of these fellowshps to
work here in Glasgow with me, with a focus on equality of access to health
information, please get in touch.
