1-56592-312-X should be included in your reference list. Not all sections
of that text received deserved attention during the final revision. Any
serious vendor ought to be able to provide supplementary material
appropriate to their architecture; I fear that the quality of those
available for my employer's equipment needs improvement. I hope that you're
welcome to pose questions which may not be covered in general texts such as
the above. If you're interested, I'll dig up a copy of my article which was
in Fortran Forum a year ago; even that has aged a bit.
