While on the topic, and not wanting to fuel the NR polemic, is
there a general purpose numerical library for F9x? I am just starting to
make the transition from F77, where you are spoilt for choice in terms
of free libraries, and compilations of free libraries (SLATEC springs to
mind). I know LAPACK has an F90 binding that makes it using a breeze,
but what about all the other *PACK libraries?
At the moment, I have to resort to using either IMSL or NAG,
neither of which are portable as in "I want to work at home". I know I
could use slatec from F9x, but I don't see a point in using all those
cumbersome F77 constructs _again_ :)
Is there a project on porting this? I am aware that this might
be due to the lack of a free compiler, but nevertheless...
Thanks, and sorry if this slightly off-topic.
