The standard F95 timing subroutines are SYSTEM_CLOCK, DATE_AND_TIME, and
CPU_TIME. You would bracket the section you wish to time with appropriate
timer calls, or, if your system supports a useful profiler, use that. My
habit for Intel boxes has been to use CPU_TIME but to link in a replacement
which uses the CPU clock tick counter. The usefulness of Fortran timer
calls on Intel-compatible boxes varies with the whims of the BIOS writer and
the Fortran library implementation.
