You are correct. There is no such function. Earlier versions of MS
Fortran, such as 5.x and Powerstation 1.0 had graphics primitives with
which you could build a plotting package, as a colleague of mine did. I
have not checked, but I presume that similar primitives exist in
PowerStation 4.0 and in Compaq Visual Fortran. At the risk of being
rude, you must "Read the F---ing Manual (RTFM)", as there is no
substitute in this case for learning about the graphics routines you
need to call to plot data.
If funding allows, a better option might be to purchase a library of
plotting routines for a compiler that is still supported.
BTW, I have nothing against using an older compiler if it does the job.
I am currently working on a project (porting a mainframe graphics code
with several heuristic algorithms for spacing drawing elements) that
requires CA-DISSPLA, which is available on the PC ONLY FOR MS
Powerstation Fortran v1.0x--can anyone say "obsolete"? My other choice
for using DISSPLA was to convince my AIX system manager to reinstall an
out-of-date version of IBM XL Fortran (the one that came with AIX 3.2.5)
and pay an annual license fee to CA.
