I imagine that it is listed in U.S. Books in Print, and
in Internatioilnal Books in Print.

A book ordered directly from the US will generally be cheaper than
if it is ordered through some agent or bookshop in the
UK, as the agent/bookseller needs to add his markup (33%) --
which would push the VAT even higher than if ordered
directly
