I've been using Lahey/Fujitsu Fortran 95 "Linux Express" for some time
with RedHat (I'm now on 6.2, but it worked with 5.2 also, IIRC.)
The installation depends on a "sh" script and a "tar" file, not an RPM.
I think I remember seeing a comment about using LF95 with Debian, so
it apparently works.
A textual debugger that works well is included. I keep hoping the
debugger will someday be hooked to "ddd".
Free support is included from Lahey. If you buy the compiler from Fujitsu,
it's about $4 less expensive, but support is charged by the year.
I had an application that I had compiled with Absoft Pro Fortran 90 for
Linux v1.0 (I don't know if this corresponds to a different version
for different platforms). The problem consisted of solving about 50,000
least squares problems, each having 11 columns and about 150 rows, with
five right-hand sides. When compiled with Lahey/Fujitsu, it ran nearly
twice as fast. YMMV.
I hope that helps.
