We are slowly moving our group to Linux/PC but we have yet to decide on
which flavour of linux; either RedHat or Debian. Debian is preferred from a
support point of view.
However, I do not have any experience with linux/pc fortran compilers. Do
the major vendors such as Fujitus, Absoft etc support both Debian and
RedHat? By support I mean many aspects such as, installing the software,
running, updating (for instance do some manufacturers only provide RH
rpms?), what's the debugging environment like?
I would be grateful for comments from those with more pratical experience
than I can pick up from the manufacturers websites. If there is any
interest I will sumarize the results to this list.
Thanks
Glenn
