Hello,
At present, I believe you're restricted to Compaq
and Absoft. Under Windows, Absoft is f90, not f95,
but they've announced f95 for Mac & Linux (IIRC,
check www.absoft.com) so f95 for Windows might be
Real Soon Now.
Compaq doesn't officially support multithreading,
but they have multithreaded libraries. IIUIC, the
issues have to do with keeping the stack in proper
shape in the event of exceptions. Check with Compaq
for a more definitive answer.
Lahey may have multithread support in the future,
check with Lahey for futures info.
Salford are nolo contendere as far as multithreaded
support goes, I wasn't able (some months (years?) back)
to get an answer to my questions from them.
A preprocessor to "automatically" make multithtreaded
code from single threaded code costs about $500.
Kuck & Assoc. and Pacific Sierra are the main players.
You may want to check my fthreads thread module from
my web pages at http://users.erols.com/dnagle, click
on fthreads It currently supports Absoft and Compaq.
fthreads will support Lahey when Lahey supports
multithreading. I'm thinking of a pthreads based version
for Linux etc., but I'm pretty busy right now. :-)
Good luck, and do post your experiences here!
