It still doesn't seem to be happenning. Or else my messages are not
getting through.
It seems ridiculous to me that a simple change of host should cause this
much trouble to users - presumably similar things are going wrong with the
thousands of lists which have perhaps hundreds of thousands of users?
What JISC has done, of course, is taken the contract away from a group who
have been managing mailbase competently for nearly a decade, and awarded
it to a group who obviously can't do the same. This is the capitalist
system gone mad, because all the groups involved are public-funded bodies.
I've send e-mails of complaint to the head of my computer centre (who is
my nearest contact to JISC), to the person who signed the message on the
website explaining the change, to the JISCmail helpdesk, and to the head
of IT department at RAL. It making the UK academic community, and in
particular CCLRC, look stupid. Let's hope somebody can do something
effective about it.
