I very much more often reply to the list as a whole, and almost
never to the sender alone.

I consider the list as a whole a forum, both sender and recipient.
It is natural, therefore, to speak to the same group from whom
the original message came. At least, that is my usual usage.

I find it most annoying to get duplicate messages.
Apparently, Netscape isn't all that sophisticated regarding mail filters
:-(

Since I reply to the sender only much less often than I reply to the
list as a whole, I find the reverse. Sigh.
