Dear All: I presumne people are still out there, reading messages to this
listserv. My apologies for a low, recent contribution--blame teaching,
getting research done, the Olympics, the weather, whatever ...
Just caught an interesting BBC World TV doco "Getting Older Younger", which
screened on an overnight feed to Television New Zealand this week (normal
programming is suspended whilst the Aussie's gobble all the gold medals).
This showed the strategies of marketing to British children in all its
veniality but it is a shame that no academics were included (David B, David
O. Maire etc etc). Has anyone else seen it?
Has Malcolm in the Middle (FoxTV) screened in the UK? It is a wonderful
twist on the perennial dysfunctional TV family and my students love it when
I use it for teaching.
What else is happening? Who else is going to Sydney in November? Greece in
March?
regards from New Zealand (at least we have one gold medal!)
