To all members of the Society for Caribbean Studies
Please find below a message from Robin Hart. She is organising a conference
at Wilton Park, UK and has kindly arranged for five subsidised places for
SCS members. In order to qualify, you have to be a registered member of the
society - not just a member of the email list.
I am attaching the conference programme for your consideration/information.
Please contact |Robin or her assistant Caroline for further details. I would
like to thank Robin for making this opportunity available to members of the
SCS.
best wishes

Dear SCS members
I am e-mailing you to let you know about a conference being organised by
Wilton Park on "The Caribbean - what does the future hold? ". This will be
held over the weekend Friday 13 - Sunday 15 October 2000 at Wiston House in
Sussex.
A copy of the programme is attached.
In case you do not know us, Wilton Park is an academically independent
Executive Agency of the British Foreign Office, organising conferences to
bring together people in positions of influence from a wide range of
countries and professions. The level of participant ranges from Ministers
to senior policy makers, academics and business executives. The conferences
are highly participative, and discussion is off-the-record and informal.
I hope that this will interest some members of the SCS and we would welcome
your participation. To assist, we are offering 5 members of SCS places at a
reduced rate of £200 (covering full board and accommodation for the 13 and
14 October, and a special bus to and from Gatwick Airport - our normal cost
is £625). Please contact my colleague Caroline Burness-Smith for
registration details if you are interested
([log in to unmask]) or 01903 817779 saying that you are an
SCS member. We would operate on a first come first served basis. (In
Caroline's absence from 10-21 August please contact me -
