Dear colleagues,
The BBC History unit are researching Barbadian history for one of the films
in the "The History of Britain" series set in the Eighteenth century
covering trade, sugar and slavery.
They're searching for materials on planter families to bring the story to
life and, on a broader note, are looking for documenation on Caribbean
slavery and in particular for Barbados. They are quite interested in the
Alleynes from St Nicholas Abbey who we've found a reference to on the NRA,
and the Draxes from Drax Hall.
If anyone is aware of collections in the UK or could offer some advice,
please reply to me and I'll forward the information on.
Many thanks,
Julie
