An invitation to current and recent PhD students to contribute to a special
issue of the journal 'Digital Creativity'.
Papers due: 1st December 2000
This special issue will concentrate on the work of current and recently
completed PhD students whose work is relevant to the themes of 'Digital
Creativity'. This term embraces all uses of digital technologies in the
context of creative practices and may cover art, design, performing arts,
architecture, new media and some areas of computer science.
Authors may present their work in either of the following formats:
a) SHORT 'POSTERS'
These are intended for those who are some way from completing their PhD and
they should be between 1,000 and 2,000 words in length. The main purpose
(from your point of view) is to make the existence of your work known to
others so that they may contact you if they are interested in it. A poster
should describe the context of your work, describe the particular issues your
research addresses and how you propose to go about it. It should include one
greyscale image (9 cm wide) which is relevant to your work.
b) FULL ARTICLES
These are intended for those who have recently completed their PhD or are in
the latter stage of doing so. Articles should be 3 - 5,000 words in length.
They should report research findings and will normally include an
introduction, which sets the context of the research, a description of the
method used, a description of the research itself, and a conclusion. Articles
should be fully referenced and include a number of (greyscale) graphic images.
Articles should also include an abstract (approx. 200 words), 5 key words or
phrases, and a short biographical note (50 - 100 words)
