                        CALL FOR PAPERS

                     WEB3D 2001 Conference

          6th International Conference on 3D Web Technology

                 (Formerly known as VRMLxx)

             19.-22. Feb. 2001, Paderborn, Germany

                    http://www.c-lab.de/web3d

The annual Web3D Symposium is a major event in the Web3D
community. This conference unites researchers, developers,
experimenters, content creators and others in a dynamic learning
environment. Attendees share and explore methods of using, enhancing
or creating new 3D web technology such as VRML, X3D, Java3D and
MPEG-4.

After the successful Web3D/VRML Symposia in San Diego (1995), Monterey
(1997, 1998, 2000) and Paderborn (1999) the world's leading
scientific/technological event in the field of Web3D will again be
held in Europe.The duration of the conference is four days: the first
two will consist of courses and workshops, and the second two days
will feature peer-reviewed papers and panels. A variety of different
events will be organized during the evenings.

-------- VRML -- X3D -- Java3D -- MPEG-4 -- and more ---------------

Papers
======

Web3D 2001 will accept papers in the following three categories:
applications, research, and systems. All content must be innovative
and meaningful to the advancement of 3D technologies on the web. An
international program committee will review all submitted
papers. Papers should be submitted in electronic form.

Videos
======

Short video submissions complimenting a technical paper will be
considered for the inclusion in a tape loop. The video will run in the
Web3D 2001 lobby.

Panels
======

Ideally, panels should address current issues in the Web3D
community. Panels should present topics of interest to the audience;
have informed, opinionated, controversial speakers; and feature
focused, structured discussions.

Workshops and Courses
=====================

Web3D 2001 is accepting applications for workshops and courses
providing instruction exposure to techniques and uses of Web3D
technologies.

Web3D RoundUp
=============

No true Web3D event is complete without the legendary Web3D RoundUp!
Each presenter must give their demonstration within a five-minute
period. The audience has the ability to judge the presentation and
control its duration.

Exhibition
==========

There will be an exhibition at Web3D 2001. Similar conditions apply as
in previous conferences. New products, innovative tools and other
high-performance Web3D technology are sought for display.
