"INTELLIGENT AGENTS, MOBILE MEDIA, INTERNET, AND APPLICATIONS"

The British Computer Society Computer Graphics & Displays Group will
hold an international two day meeting on this theme to take place in
the UK, 23-26 April 2001. A book based on, but not restricted to,
papers presented at the event will be published after the meeting.
Intelligent media creation is a major challenge. Tools and
techniques for the automatic and semi-automatic generation
and access to digital content is the next goal for the information
society. This is relevant to the applications domains of
interactive TV, games, Internet worlds, education environments,
cultural heritage, tourism, performing arts, fine art, training,
publishing, advertising, medicine, and simulation.
Topics to be covered may include (and are not limited to) the following -

# Online communities # Audio and video
# Integrating vision and graphics # 3D capture modelling
# Modelling natural phenomena # Genetic algorithms

# Media servers # Content, structure and aesthetics
# Intelligent multimedia # Dialogue capture
Other areas of interest will also be considered by the editors.
Call for Papers, Panels, and Courses

Selection of papers for presentation at the meeting will be by invitation
or by review of extended abstracts (up to 4 pages). Chapters for the
book will be selected by review of full papers. Papers can be research,
experiments/trials, social implication/philosophical aspects, applications.
Papers are invited which describe original research in these areas as well
as applications.
Please send three paper copies or one e-mail copy of an abstract giving
a title, a description of the paper content, the name(s) and affiliation(s)
of author(s), a contact address (e-mail and/or postal), telephone and/or
FAX number. If a paper is accepted for the meeting, one of the authors
will be expected to attend to present it. In this case Conference fees
will be waived for the presenter.
The meeting will be preceded by two days of Courses and an exhibition
display will be mounted to run concurrently with the programme. Course
Proposals (for 23-24 April) and Panel Proposals for the Conference
(25-26 April) are also invited. The event will take place at the
National Museum of Photography, Film & Television, Bradford, UK.
The Museum has recently undergone a £16 million redevelopment and has
moved from the current traditional displays to interactive multimedia
and graphics environments. Further information is at -

The Conference is being designed specifically to capitalise on the
new Museum and the new kinds of content being generated by digital
technology. Publicity for the Conference will be sent out worldwide.
