ART IN MOTION II
The University of Southern California School of Fine Arts second annual
international festival of time-based media, presented in collaboration
with the Santa Monica Museum of Art.
February 15, 16, 17, 2001
ENTRY DEADLINE: January 1, 2001
Greetings from Art in Motion II:
AIM II's entry deadline is soon approaching. Dont miss your chance to be
a part of this three-day international festival of time-based media. To
date the festival has received a substantial number of entries from all
over the world, including submissions from Hong Kong, Germany, Great
Britain, Switzerland, and throughout the United States. So, send in those
films, videos, animations, sound pieces, CD-ROMs, websites, and other
dynamic projects. Remember, submission to AIM II is free and open to all.
The University of Southern California and the Santa Monica Museum of Art
will collectively host selected works. Screenings will be held at USCs
state-of-the-art Annenberg Auditorium, while the Santa Monica Museum of
Art will host gallery entries. In addition, the SMMOA will house a
curated exhibit addressing issues raised by the theme of 'The Vanishing
Author?".
All entrants are eligible to compete for the $1000 Intelefilm Award For
Creative Excellence, among others TBA. Award winners will be selected by
a trio of internationally acclaimed artists: Tom Leeser: media artist and
Visual Effects Supervisor/Art Director with Academy Award-winning
production studio Rhythm & Hues; Janice Tanaka: video artist, new media
pioneer and writer; and Tran, T. Kim Trang: video artist and independent
curator of digital media.
