Yes: environmental damage caused by governmental subservience to
multinational capitalism. Or in microcosmic terms local governmental
subservience to quango interests ultimately driven by the same forces.
Comparison of political systems operating in 1400 & 2000 might be a
close call in global terms but is ultimately irrelevant.
Not that I disagree with your remarks re immediate conspiracy theories
attempting to offset what should be our pleasure at the fall of
Milosevich. Keston's interlined questioning of that article, however,
seemed fairly cogent to me. Plus the fact that the new guy whose name I
haven't yet learnt to spell doesn't look obviously amenable to real or
supposed US interests.
