*Fragments* makes the claim to be biographical truth, although (on the
evidence) it is not. That may or may not be a 'poetical' claim, and it's
more than a game with genres; but the status of the book as unacknowledged
fiction should certainly lead to questions about the leisure, privilege and
ease apparently not enjoyed by its author.
