Thanks to Peter Quartermain for directing our attention to above in The
Antigonish Review. Having been on the receiving end of similar stuff re The
New Poetry, I can really sympathise. It is always a shame when the
introduction is reviewed and not the poetry. However, there is also an old
Chinese proverb that goes something like 'He who sticks head above parapet
waving fighting, combative introduction should expect to get nuked by the
know-nowts' so I'm not going to sympathise too much!
It is always a shame when the introduction is reviewed and not the poetry.
There are actually some pertinent criticisms to be made of Other but they
are not to be found in the Antigonish piece. Perhaps this is a good
opportunity to start exploring them?
cheers
David
