I don't remember that crack Lawrence but its a tasty one - as everyone 'moved
up one' who got the newly vacant spot? Ha!
Yes, but get away from hierarchical description and you can be left with
something very flat and bland. In 'avant garde' things for example the
blurb-superb is often replaced by a very technical sounding description with
strategically placed 'hard' words - which is just sneaking back to the
hierarchical through the back door.
