Baci, Erminia
Sydney 2000 Olympic Games
by Erminia Passannanti
( Diving I)
Penetration of blueness and depths
with a perfected body.
Splashing into two elements.
The air. The water.
Infinitesimal calculation
of balance. Elegance
with an arced back.
At once, the winged Icarus aiming
to hit the sun
like a vibrating arrow
and humble dolphin
in the wide ocean of Sydney.
Or else,
dead soul, caught in an eternal flight
or rhythm and flow,
seeming to have grown in
confidence
with the after world
of your stone tomb. What a splash
into concentric centuries.
For ever spinning towards a splendid
current.
Beautiful extension of crystals.
You winner. Diamond.
Body of faultlessness.
(Diving II)
"I want him to win ( me ) "
5 seconds and he disappears
into my depths
good entry fine push fresh
he jumps off the platform very deep high
after a single twist
with such a balance moving through
spaces of crowds of stillness
wet muscles juvenile
hips this one standing on his tips
the arms stretched out hanging up in his perfected
posture
after the initial wobble
clear entry
oh,
enter me
