And regarding personal taste you can see two very different versions
of my own work in
http://www.bath.ac.uk/~exxdgdc/poetry/poetry.html
where I have included William Oxley's selection of my work for his
Stride anthology along with my own selection. I was quite appalled
at the poems he chose, even though I am most grateful.
REgarding Web publishing over the last three years my readership has
declined from its 20,000 readings/year to about 5,000. In the same
period my selection of Robert Burns has climbed from 15,000 to
about 40,000 (readings/year). In my old age my work has become passe'
but perhaps there is a greater choice on the WEb now and people
arent forced to read me. Needless to say this readership doesnt
sell books, although my Web readership dwarfs my printed sales.
