Well, sure--if it's a mere "response" and (as in your proviso)
from a credible source. I was protesting an unsupported, uninformed
_attack_ on a poem in such uncritical terms as "terrible" (sorry,
Tim!), "phenomenally bad," etc. Attacks always obligate the aggressor
to stump up, stand his/her ground, give reasons for his/her trashing--
don't you think? Unsupported praise may be just as offensive as an
attack, but it doesn't _injure_ (in and of itself), so it doesn't
have to be justified, necessarily, tho' it probably should be.
