Call for Nominations for the Position of Executive Secretary

la chanson populaire)=20
Nominations for the position of Executive Secretary (vacated by Barre
Toelken in 2000), may be sent by KfV members in good standing (those who
have attended at least two meetings during the past five years). Please
consider the following and submit your candidate's name to Barre Toelken's
e-mail or snail-mail address by December 30, 2000. The candidate should
ideally fill the following requirements:
1) have expertise in the area of ballad/folksong scholarship=20
2) be available to attend the majority of annual meetings
3) have excellent writing skills (for newsletter) and good knowledge of at
least two of the KfV official languages (English, German, French)=20
4) have good organizational skills and be able to work well with executive,
Web master, and membership for the production of newsletter
If you wish to nominate a candidate, please submit the following: =20
1) name of nominee
2) name of at least two members making nomination
3) a message from the nominee stating the acceptance of the nomination, and
making a brief statement regarding past involvement with the IBC (meetings
attended, papers given/published), and any vision for the candidate=92s=
future
role in this position. The statement will be made available to all voting
members.
Election of the KfV executive secretary will be conducted electronically, as
well as through regular post, and will be completed by January 30, 2001.
More information on voting procedure will follow in early January.
