 is pleased to announce a special issue on

INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES,
TOURISM, CULTURE AND ART

The special issue builds on the Technology Impact on Cultural Tourism
2000
Conference organised by Boazii University, 27-29 June 2000 in Istanbul,
Turkey and aims to explore the contribution of Information Communication

Technologies (ICT) to Cultural and Art Tourism. It also aims to
illustrate
the emerging ICT applications and tools for better understanding of
cultures as well as for optimising the cultural impacts of tourism.

Papers are invited that address -- but are not limited to -- the
following
topics:
-- IT applications in cultural heritage tourism
-- Interactions/partnerships between cultural and tourism operators
through IT
-- Innovative IT business models in museums and cultural
institutions/sites
-- Use of IT to optimise the cultural impact of tourism
-- IT and visitor flow management strategies in cultural sites
-- Marketing cultural information on the Internet
-- Effects of multimedia and virtual reality for cultural heritage in
the
tourism industry
-- Introduction of Destination Management Systems in heritage
destinations
-- virtual cultural tourism

Authors are invited to develop their papers according to the  ITT
guidelines (http://projects.smc.univie.ac.at/it&t/) and should submit
their papers to Dr Valeria Minghetti ([log in to unmask]) by the following
deadlines.

Referred  process for shortlisted papers        1 November -1 December
2000
Final deadline for accepted papers              10 January 2001
