This is a project that should interest librarians, archivists, curators and
researchers. Take a look.
Housed Memory is the result of a two months residency at the Wiener Library
by London-based artist Uriel Orlow. The Wiener Library is the world's oldest
Holocaust memorial institution. During his residency the artist documented
both the collection itself as well as the practices involved in the running
and using of this unique archive/library. The material from this
investigation into those areas and aspects of the library/archive which are
not normally encountered by the public, provides the basis for a video
installation which takes place over two sites: The Wiener Library and the
RIBA Architecture Gallery.
