ARLIS Visit to Tate Modern, London, Thursday 23rd November
Tate Modern, which opened in May 2000, contains the Tate’s collection of
international modern art from 1900 to the present day. The collection includes
works by Bacon, Dali, Picasso, Matisse, Rothko and Warhol as well as
contemporary work by artists such as Rebecca Horn, Steve McQueen and Gillian
Wearing. The Gallery is housed in the former Bankside Power Station which was
converted by Herzog and de Meuron architects.
The visit will commence at 2.30 p.m. and there will be a maximum of 30 places
available. The visit will start with a talk followed by free time to enjoy the
Gallery.
