> ** CALLING ALL DACS LICENCE HOLDERS **
>
> As part of a review of ARLIS's position in relation to the DACS licensing
> scheme, the Visual Resources Committee is gathering information from licence
> holders.
>
> 1. How long have you been a member?
Central Saint Martins has been a member since May 1997(as have all the
constituent London Institute Colleges).
>
> 2. Have you ever had any feedback from DACS?
Very little. I have no idea whether the information given on my returns is
adequate/appropriate. The very occasional communications that do come from
DACS generally seem to cause more confusion than clarity.
>
> 3. Have you had any difficulties implementing the licence?
The recent furore over the implications of extending the licence to include
lecturers own personal collections was something I could have done without.
Much of this could have been avoided if DACS had consulted with its
licensees first about what was desirable/workable.
>
> Any further comments would be most welcome.
Has any progress been made towards the licence covering any of its current
exclusions? (adverts, film stills, products with logos).
