Subject: new bilingual Art Magazine from Russia about Russian
contemporary art
Dear Friends,
I wish to introduce ourselves as a new bilingual art
magazine from Russia "ART-Chronika" about Russian
contemporary art (www.artchronika.com). Obviously your
readers will benefit from our magazine, because it's
the only magazine from Russia of that kind -
bilingual, interesting, professional, full colour,
high quality ("it's worth it" as you say it). One has
to take into account the attention of your Government
devoted to the Arts and Culture.
ART-Chronika: since May 1999 the main stage - since
April 2000.
Subscription: US$26.00 for 2000 (4 issues)
US$39.00 for 2001 (6 issues)
Delivery: extra (see below)
Circulation: 30.000
No of pages: 164
Published: by-monthly
ISSN: 1607-3983
Misc.: special surveys for 2001.
ART-Chronika is subscribed to and distributed
throughout Russia to top businesses and offices of
major Russian and foreign companies, government
institutions, major shops and hotels, fairs, museums,
art schools and academies, VIP sections of the main
Russian international airports, in the first and
business class sections on the Aeroflot international
flights, British Airways and KLM.
ART-Chronika has got around 60 subscribers and readers
abroad, starting from the United States: the Western
States Arts Federation (CO, USA), Fogg Art Museum of
Harvard University (USA), “Monarch” Contemporary Art
Centre and Sculpture Park (WA, USA), Mimi Ferzt
Gallery in New York (NY, USA), Musee d’art
contemporain de Montreal (Canada), National Gallery of
Australia, National Art Library of Victoria and Albert
Museum in London (UK), Bibliotheque d’Art and
Archeologie in Geneva (Switzerland) and in many other
countries from New Zealand across Europe to Alaska.
The magazine is well received in the Foreign Embassies
in Moscow (USA, UK, Germany, France, Chile, Singapore,
Greece, Cyprus etc.). We are engaged in a number of
international art projects. It will be quite an honour
for us to see our periodical in the Netherlands.
ART-Chronika is the most important means, which is
designed to promote Russian Art and Antiques and help
pave the way for the Russian artists to win
international acceptance. The magazine is part of a
bigger art project aiming to create a commercial art
market in Russia. We have our own internet art
collection, which is the first Russian professional
fine arts trading & information gateway
(www.artlife.ru) and on-line news (www.artnews.ru). At
the moment it features over 300 works of about 110
Russian artists.
But our aim is not just to offer you a high quality
art magazine. We are interested in establishing
relationship with you and sharing information and
professional expertise to develop and advance
partnerships with the businesses and arts in both
countries
At this stage we consider your link vital in the
following areas:
- your possible subscription to our magazine (or maybe
you would be kind enough to forward my letter to some
other person or library).
- identifying the right contact person for further
mutual development.
- establishing contacts with those who have particular
interests in Russian contemporary art.
Quite a range(!) you would say. We are ready to offer
our contacts, expertise and know how of the Russian
art market that may lead eventually to some definite
projects or actions, which will benefit business, the
arts and world culture. We organise trips for groups
and individuals (especially, for Arts students and
organisations).
We have our representatives in the USA, the UK, the
Netherlands, France and Italy.
Please, visit our web sites for more information as a
basis for your decision. If you need to, I can send
you sample copies of the magazine. Please, feel free
to contact me.
Yours faithfully,
Sergei Krouglov
