DEAN AND CHAPTER OF CANTERBURY - CANTERBURY CATHEDRAL ARCHIVES
Archives Cataloguer (Temporary)
Applications are invited for a one year contract, to continue the
sorting and cataloguing of the archive of the Dean and Chapter of
Canterbury, ranging in date from 742 to the present day. The salary is
grant-funded and will start at £15210pa.
This post, which is based at Canterbury Cathedral Archives, provides an
opportunity to develop computerised cataloguing and indexing skills in
the environment of a busy local record office which is part of the Kent
Archives Service. The work will focus on the medieval deeds of the
Cathedral's estates.
Qualifications should include a relevant degree, a post-graduate
qualification in archives administration or suitable relevant research
experience, Latin, medieval palaeography, and some computer literacy.
The post might be suitable for someone recently completing an archives
qualification or for someone with relevant experience wishing to take an
archives qualification in the near future.
