One-year fixed-term contract, to start as soon as possible
This new post is being established to assist in the development of regional
strategies for museums, libraries and archives in the Yorkshire region.
Based at the Yorkshire Museums Council (YMC) at Farnley Hall, Leeds 12, the
postholder will report to the YMC's Head of Policy but will also maintain
close liaison with colleagues in the Regional Library Service and the
Regional Archives Council. Key tasks include research into the size, scope
and activities of the three sectors, with an initial focus on archives and
libraries, defining future needs across the region and identifying areas for
future cross-sectoral collaboration.
The requirements for the post include: a degree or equivalent qualification,
experience of quantitative and qualitative research methods, a high standard
of literacy, numeracy, ICT and analytical skills, excellent interpersonal
communication skills and a current clean driving licence. An understanding
of strategic and regional development issues, and familiarity with Microsoft
Access and Excel would be an advantage.
A secondment to this post would be welcome, particularly from the archives
or libraries sectors. This project offers excellent career development
