At the Society's Council meeting on 7 September approval was given
for the establishment of a Web Advisory Group to manage the future
development of the Society's website. We are seeking six volunteers to
serve on this Group, which will meet initially on Tuesday 14 November
2000, again in February 2001 and then conduct most of its business
by email. The only qualifications are that you must have Internet and
web access (whether at home or work) and that you send in a paragraph
outlining how you think you could contribute to the Group.
We will also be looking for some website testers, who will be willing to
look at, and comment on, draft screen designs, databases and functions
before they go live on the site. It is unlikely that any meetings will be
involved. Again, Internet and email access is essential.
If you are interested in participating in either of the above functions,
please contact Philip Winterbottom, Archives, The Royal Bank of
Scotland Group plc, 42 Islington High Street, London N1 8XL
(phone 020 7615 6127, fax 020 7837 7560,
email [log in to unmask]) by the 22 October 2000.
