Hi, I have been on the mailing list for some time but this is my first
contribution. When I read the e-mail from Elaine Brison I quickly checked
my SRG Newsletter to see what I had missed. I agree with Sarah that it was
a light-hearted comment and not intended to offend.
In view of the recent discussion concerning the difficulty involved in
getting archivists to attend meetings and contribute generally, we should be
grateful to people like Mark. I don't know Mark but I imagine he does the
editing in his own time, for free, and is probably not a trained journalist
(I could be wrong). This is after all his first edition, I hope he will not
feel deterred.
I we want more archivists to get involved we should offer encouragement.
As I mentioned, this is my first contribution so I hope I will not get `shot
down'. Who knows I might even feel inspired to contribute again.
