To add to the debate on regional meetings, should we also be considering their timing?
East Midlands meetings are always held on a Saturday afternoon. Quite apart from the fact that when the journey to some of our further flung offices is taken into account, attending a meeting can sometimes eat up a whole day of our precious weekends, this timing means that those members who have regular Saturday commitments are never able to attend - however much we 'pep up' the content! Varying the meeting time might help to vary (or even add to?) the 'handful of loyal stalwarts' who attend.
I've heard of one region where meetings are held on Saturdays, weekday evenings and during office ours in rotation, with the express intention of allowing different groups of people to attend. Is this rumour correct? Does it work? Do other regions do this?
Just a thought .....
