As a former London regional secretary, I'd like to endorse this - and I am
sure the SoA Hon Secretary would agree. Though it remains to be seen how
the Society of Archivists' new organisational structure will affect
communication.
During my time of service, it was occasionally worrying how little interest
was shown at regional business meetings in SoA policy and documentation -
yet complaints were also occasionally fielded along the lines of 'why did
no-one tell me about this?' when the answer was that it had been in the
Newsletter, the regional mailing and on a regional business meeting agenda.
Richard and Alison should comfort themselves however with the thought that
people (even if not enough) do appreciate the work of the SoA regions - as
was also frequently pointed out to me by those who came to and enjoyed
events.
Yours
Sarah
