UNESCO Thesaurus
Archivists who are using, and those who are considering using, the UNESCO
Thesaurus as a high level standard for subject indexing may be interested in
the database of new terms added to the UNESCO thesaurus by the PRO during
the preparation of PROCAT.
To view the database of new terms, and their position of addition in the
UNESCO Thesaurus, go to the PRO's website, (http://www.pro.gov.uk), click on
the ARCHIVES section, then click on the Unesco Thesaurus. Detailed
information as to the hierarchical format can be found in the Introductory
and HELP pages.
The database is intended to help archivists who are using the UNESCO
Thesaurus and who may find our added terms, and their place of addition in
the structure of the UNESCO Thesaurus, useful to their own cataloguing.
