Dear Everyone
I have been asked by the Library Disaster Control Team, whether I can
find out about a suitable fungicide which the team can store for
placing in water with water soaked photographic prints and negatives to
avoid excess swelling of gelatine and to inhibit mould growth.
Is it still common practise to soak water-damaged photographs in a
fungicide solution on site? If so what fungicides are recommended, and
where can the fungicide be purchased?
I might add that this is not a problem at the moment: we are just
thinking ahead! Any advice on this topic (off-line if necessary) would
be very gratefully received.
Thanks very much,
Hannah Lowery
