I'm looking for any guidelines or policies that other people may have
relating to record keeping and outsourced services. I've found a very good
guide on the National Archives of Australia webpage but this is of course
biased in the direction of Australian legislation (the link to this is:
http://www.naa.gov.au/recordkeeping/outsourcing/outsource_records/general/is
sues_outsource/GDA25.html). The main principle seems to be that the
department, council or agency owns the intellectual property but the actual
practice of who holds physical custody of the records, let alone what
happens to the electronic records, doesn't seem as well defined. Any
information would be helpful.
