**Vacancy for an Assistant Archivist/Records Manager**
The Parliamentary Archives is seeking a qualified archivist/records to
provide support for its records management and archive services for both
Houses of Parliament.
The post holder will assist the Archivist/Records Manager in day to day
administration of the records management service and the conservation and
preservation microfilming services. There will be active involvement in:
promotion of a strategy for managing paper and electronic records; a major
project for creating an online catalogue of the archives; and the full range
of archival activities including Search Room supervision and answering
enquiries.
This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic archivist/records manager
to develop their personal and professional skills in a stimulating
environment through involvement with challenging projects.
The salary scale is £14,842 - £20,948 per annum. The successful candidate
will be offered a salary depending on qualifications and experience, with
promotion prospects. Leave allowance is 6 weeks per annum (minimum) and
there is a non-contributory pension scheme, except for a contribution to a
widow's/widowers pension.
