This is what I developed for the "Mission statement" or Objectives part of
our 3 year plan:
"To provide an effective records management and archives service for Young &
Co and its subsidiary companies, ensuring that records are handled in such a
way as to provide for their most efficient storage, retrieval, preservation
or disposal."
I don't know whether that helps at all. I tried to cover both electronic
and paper records with this statement and make it as broad as possible. It
is also supposed to mean that the IT department don't encroach on my
territory!
