Apologies for duplication - we are trying to reach as many people as
possible.
Dear All,
We are lucky enough to be in the position of having a new home! A brand new
building is to be constructed and Special Collections is to have two floors
- a basement for storage and another floor for reading room, offices etc.
Its not going to be enormous (500 square metres floorspace) but we do get
to say what we want and where. We have read lots of articles, books etc but
we were wondering whether there is anything new that we might not have
seen. This new home will be for archives, rare books and not so rare books
(plus maps, plans, photos, etc.).
We would also be interested in hearing from anyone who has moved into a
brand new building. Any tips on coping with architects, engineers, movers
etc. Please reply off list.
Any information, horror stories, tips, etc. gratefully received.
Thank you,
Lucy
